HRBR Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Dmitri Wall and Professor Rod Sinclair, Professor of Dermatology at the University of Melbourne have developed a patient database to record and study the outcomes of patients suffering from hair loss and who have contracted Covid-19.
Researchers have suggested that some of the treatments used in patients suffering from hair loss may result in better outcomes for those who have contracted Covid-19. More data is needed to determine if this is true. In order to gather this data Dr Wall and Professor Sinclair have teamed up with a large network of hair loss specialists throughout the world to create a global registry of patients who have suffered from both conditions. The aim of the database is to collect information on the patient’s hair loss condition, the effects of Covid-19 on the patient and whether the two may be linked.
